The brief
Following two previous successful events, we were tasked with sourcing an unusual venue in London which would provide an impressive backdrop for this prestigious event. Word of mouth from previous years had founded a reputation internally which had to be surpassed! A suitable high standard hotel had to be contracted working within a pre-determined sensible price structure together with novelty transport to the event.
The event was attended by the winners of their internal Standfast Awards nominations process, all of whom were put forward by colleagues for their individual or group achievement within the five ‘Values’ of the business – Be Accountable, Be Better, Be Supportive, Be Enthusiastic and Be Pioneering. As well as recognition for their excellence, the event also needed to showcase their six core brands. As winners were selected from all business units across the company many had limited exposure to the diverse nature of their own brands.
Our solution
Upon check-in guests were given a one-way old fashioned bus ticket to redeem for travel as they boarded two vintage red double deckers. After an informative short guided tour en route to the venue, guests were shown up to the first floor galleries at ‘One Marylebone’.
Seven cocktail bars had been built during the day, each representing individual brand imagery. This included a mock tree house bar, a 1950’s American dive bar, an old English library which led through a moveable bookcase to a Victorian garden beyond, a eclectic white & mirror bar with tequila plant agave planters and other branded bars with backlit acrylic panels detailing current advertising campaigns. The surroundings for the cocktail reception provided both the ideal reward for the winners as well as an increased insight into their company brands.
The Awards dinner then took place in the magnificent surroundings of a former church downstairs where the Director’s presented the winners with their deserved prizes.
