New on the Block – The Beaumont Hotel

At Effective Event Solutions we work with a huge range of hotels (from New York high flyers, to Scandi cool design hotels) so we always keep an eye out for ‘The Next Big Thing’ … The Beaumont opened it’s doors in the autumn of 2014, welcoming guests into sumptuous art deco surroundings.

Just a few months since opening, the hotel has certainly proved it’s luxury credentials with rave reviews on tripadvisor and a thumbs up from The Telegraph newspaper. So what makes it so special?

The Beaumont is Jeremy King and Chris Corbin’s first hotel, adding to their enviable portfolio of arguably London’s finest restaurants. Evoking the elegance and personalised hospitality of pre-war Mayfair, it is grand in style and yet intimate in feel. With 73 rooms, including 23 suites. The hotel includes a classic Grill Room, an American Bar, a separate Residents’ Bar & Lounge, a Boardroom, and a Gymnasium and Spa with Hamam.

By far the stand out element of this new hotel is ROOM; a suite in the form of an inhabitable sculpture by Antony Gormley. Clearly visible from the exterior, the juxtaposition of a three storey high cuboid figure against the Art Deco, Grade II listed facade of the hotel is in itself fascinating.

The inside of ROOM by Antony Gormley is a dark fumed oak-clad bedroom in a one-bedroom suite, accessed up seven steps through a black curtain from a strongly contrasting, pure white marble bathroom, is just as important as its exterior: a giant crouching cuboid figure based on the artist’s body.

For meetings and events, this new hotel in London has The Lotos Room, a boardroom/private dining room space seating up to 16.

Customise this Asian Restaurant for events

As noted by Emma Cullen in a recent post the British appetite for Japanese cuisine is growing and we’re not just talking about Blue Mondays at Yo Sushi

A great one for groups is Inamo (pictured), with two central London locations (Soho and St James’) the restaurants feature innovative interactive tables, modern Asian cuisine and mouth-watering sushi.

The interactive tables add an extra dimension to the dining experience with guests able to order food, change their ‘tablecloth’ and even spy on the kitchen at the swipe of a finger. This is a novel way to brand a corporate dinner event or party too – the tables (beamed from projectors above your head) can be completely customised to your brand.

Corporate groups can also have a bit of fun with a team building sushi masterclass or cocktail creation session in Inamo’s seductive bar.

Jay Rayner of The Observer said ‘From the interactive menu to delicious sushi, this is Asian fun at your fingertips’

Winter Party Decor Ideas

The Effective Event Solutions team have creative ideas and the practical skills to style any venue to any theme, here’s proof in the form of a winter party we recently produced:

The Banking Hall stands at the centre of London’s financial district, just opposite the Bank of England, and is a piece of banking history complete with original art deco features. So stunning is the venue that it even featured in a recent Michael Buble music video!

Our challenge was to turn the art deco venue into a winter wonderland for a corporate party of up to 500 guests – have a look at the before and after photos on our facebook page!

We installed stalactites from a suspended cloth ceiling and used UV lights to create a chilled wintery feel in the entrance hall. Extra features like the iceberg (to the left of the above photo) was actually a clever way of hiding an un-movable marble table!

For the large main hall we dressed the pillars with wintery white trees and foliage and used gobo lights to project swirling snowflakes onto the ceiling. Our event management team hired a huge snowglobe for guests to take snowy team photos throughout the evening too.

The Effective Event Solutions bar team served delicious cocktails from a sumptuous white padded bar and a long mirrored bar, which added to the overall winter style of the main hall.

The winter party decor continued upstairs on the mezzanine level, where our event designers created a cosy winter lounge complete with faux fireplace and luxe velvet seating areas.

Conferences | Motion Graphics Business Presentation

The Effective Event Solutions audio visual team were thrilled to be involved in the DAF Trucks Parts annual dealer conference at the ACC Liverpool.

In advance of the event we worked with a brief from DAF’s marketing team to create video stings introducing each presenter and then worked with all speakers to produce sharp and engaging keynote presentations.

Our team presented various options and creative ideas to the DAF Trucks team and developed a seamless business presentation for use at their annual dealer conference. We also provided onsite support to ensure all speakers (including VIP Quentin Willson one of Britain’s best known motoring speakers) were rehearsed and comfortable with their slides.

We also worked with the ACC Liverpool venue team to ensure the DAF branding was prominent and in line with brand standards throughout the venue.

The Effective Event Solutions logistics team provided accommodation, travel and catering assistance to ensure every aspect of the event ran smoothly for staff and delegates alike.

If you’re interested in any of our conference services for your next event please contact us on Sales@EffectiveEventSolutions.com to find out more.

Restaurant Review: Ceviche Soho, London

The Effective Event Solutions team have traveled all over the globe running inspiring events, but it is always a joy to find authentic international food available when we’re back on British soil!

Last week we were up in London catching up with clients and went to check out Ceviche in the Soho area of the city. Just off the beautiful Soho square this little gem looks like a trendy bar from the street but opens out into a larger dining space at the rear of the building.

One of South America’s best kept secrets the classic ceviche dish has been brought to new audiences in recent years. The method involves cooking with the acidic juice of citrus fruits instead of traditional heat cooking, this preserves the beautiful texture of fresh fish and seafood with a delicious tang.

At Ceviche Soho the citrus-cured fish is available in a variety of forms, other traditional Preuvian dishes such as chargrilled skewers are also available along with an extensive cocktail menu (we opted for classic Pisco Sours – highly recommended!).

Drunk Scallops were a definite favourite – finely sliced discs of king scallop bathed in pisco, lime, chilli, pomegranate and corriander. The ‘house dish’; Don Ceviche is also top notch – meaty sea bass surrounded by amarillo chilli ‘tiger’s milk’ with chilli, red onion and fresh coriander, garnished with sweet potato crisps.

For an informal lunch you can prop up the steel counter-bar, grab dinner on a high wooden table in the restaurant or book the whole place for a fabulous sharing supper and cocktail party with authentic Peruvian pzazz!
